Snow Peak LAND STATION HAKUBA
This new Hakuba Valley landmark opened in 2020 as an interactive facility for both visitors and locals.
Make sure to visit while in Hakuba Village!
The Tourist Information Center, run by the Tourism Commission of Hakuba Village, has all the information you need on local events. Right next door are a stylish cafe and restaurant, and a rental shop for outdoor equipment.
Located in the heart of Hakuba Village and offering incredible views of the famous Hakuba Sanzan mountains, LAND STATION HAKUBA is a great place to relax. Access is easy with highway and express bus stops available.

Oide Suspension Bridge
The Oide Suspension Bridge, thatched-roof houses, and the Hakuba Sanzan mountains make for a lovely rural scene. The park area is popular for picnics and leisurely walking, and you can even find some tea houses nearby. Relax while listening to the soothing sound of the Himekawa River. At this scenic spot, you can enjoy the beauty of the four seasons against the backdrop of the magnificent Northern Japan Alps.
Himekawa River Headwaters Nature Park
Himekawa River flows through Hakuba Village and Otari Village, eventually flowing into the Sea of Japan. When the snow melts in spring, flowers begin to cover the Oyomi Wetlands and the Himekawa River headwaters. At the nature park you’ll find beautiful flowers such as pheasant’s-eye, water-crowfoot, and Menyanthes. Take a walk, relax, and enjoy the clear waters.
Hakuba Roadside Station
This is a great place to find local produce and sample local dishes made from homegrown ingredients. You can also pick up souvenirs while you’re here, so be sure to stop by at least once during your stay. You may even find some exclusive, seasonal Hakuba souvenirs!
Otari Roadside Station
You’ll find plenty of Otari specialty produce and souvenirs here, where local mountain vegetables and mushrooms are especially popular. Also available is a wide selection of other items including local sake, sweets, and snacks made from Otari-grown fruit, vegetables, pork, rice, and other ingredients. With hot spring facilities as well, it’s a great place to rejuvenate.
Omachi History and Culture(National Treasure Nishina Shinmeigu Shrine)
The joy of visiting shrines and temples. Experience the time-honored tradition of visiting shrines and temples as a form of prayer. Nishina Shinmeigu Shrine dates back to the Heian period, and boasts the same shinmei-zukuri ancient architectural style as Ise Jingu. However, this shrine is the only shinmei-zukuri shrine in Japan to be designated a National Treasure. Come by and take part in the classic traditions.
Omachi Alpine Museum
Exhibits the history of nature and mountain climbing in the Northern Japan Alps. You can see Japanese serows and Ptarmigans at the small zoo next to the museum.
Sake Breweries
Omachi City, also known as the city of water, offers three breweries which produce local sake from refreshing water and delicious rice. Every year on the first Saturday of September, a sake tasting tour featuring these three breweries is held.
The Salt Road
Chikuni-kaido, also known as the Salt Road, was an ancient 120-km long route which passed through Otari Village, connecting Itoigawa in Echigo, which overlooks the Sea of Japan, to Matsumoto Castle in Nagano.
